Cometh the Hour, cometh the Team Wiggins replica team kit from Rapha (plus associated hour-related puns).
Next weekend sees Sir Bradley Wiggins attempt to break Alex Dowsett's Hour record at the Olympic Velodrome in London and what better way to help him go faster than to cheer him on wearing Team Wiggo replica kit.
The “classically inspired” kit, which pays homage to the Team GB kit of yesteryear, plus mod culture and the ‘flying formation’ of the Wiggins team, say Rapha, includes:
Wiggins Replica Jersey – £75

As the name suggests, it's based on the team jersey and as you’d expect it features all the usual technical attributes – high wicking material, anti bacterial material, the usual number of pockets etc, and a race cut. Styling is Eighties Team GB jersey given a mod makeover – dig that roundel! – and other stylistic touches include the word WIGGINS on the back panel (just in case) in what Rapha say is specially commissioned typography. Note that it isn't part of Rapha's Pro Team collection.
Wiggins Pro Team Bib Shorts – £190

Basically these are Rapha’s highly regarded Pro Team bibs as worn by Team Sky and now Team Wiggins too. As you’d expect they say WIGGINS on them rather prominently. These shorts are a limited edition item too and each pair is individually numbered. No word on what the limit on the edition is in the Rapha press release but you can take it that it’s going to be some way south of 1,000,000. Given they’re £190 a pop.
Wiggins Pro Team Cap – £15

Quarter panel construction and features the word WIGGINS prominently, but you guessed that.
Wiggins Pro Team Socks – £15

Extra long in the modern style favoured by the team, the socks feature a star graphic on the back – again inspired, say Rapha, by the team’s flying formation (we're assuming here they don't mean where they all sit on the plane for away races). In a bold break with the styling on the rest of the kit, though, the socks don’t feature the word WIGGINS anywhere so you can wear them on non-team kit days too.
Wiggins Supporter T-shirt – £25

Finally, for those who want to show their support but not in team kit, this cotton T-shirt features the team roundel on the front and the team logo, WIGGINS, on the back.
As you’d expect from Rapha it’s all classy looking clobber. You can take a closer look yourself by popping along to www.rapha.cc.

I’ll have that cap but pass on the rest.
If they put the roundel on
If they put the roundel on the bottom of the peak and sky up top I’d have one now, but ride around with Murdoch’s branding on show, nah I’ll leave it.
Does wearing this kit while
Does wearing this kit while not being Bradley Wiggins break rule 17?
I’ve never seen a more
I’ve never seen a more blatant rip off of Team Sky kit than this =))

The kits are designed by Rapha… both of them, so unless they can rip off themselves? its not possable. you should check out the Rapha website
I was a little disapointed to see Sky as a sponsor tho :”( Murdoch certainly won’t get any free advertising from me.

been watching the tour series and not impressed by their kit ! There again biased as a founder member of One Pro got their kit and it is real good !
The usual sizes on the T
The usual sizes on the T shirt are sold out mainly due to people multiple buying and adding the fleabay at 50-100% increase. The same thing happened with the £20 mercy wiggo t shirts.
The below is in stock at this time.
lol the cheek of it.
£250 !!!! seriously? are
£250 !!!! :O seriously? are people that stupid enough to pay that much for a bit of lycra cycling kit on ebay when the flippin thing is not only still for sale at Rapha, but would be a completely nutty idea if they only produced a ltd edn run of and had sold out of anyway.
and no I dont get the Sky hate either,& most of its targetted at the wrong Murdoch anyway, without Sky there wouldnt be a Team Wiggo.

Person buys something, then tries to make a profit. It’s not cheeky, it’s rather clever. Only numpties would actually want this, so why not try to separate them from their cash? You’re probably doing them a favour.
Funny how people take offence
Funny how people take offence to Sky and their brand being on most things associated with British based cycling.
This is the same Sky who took a punt sponsoring and financing a national association who had not won anything for a long time. That cash, combined with revolutionary changes implemented by Dave Brailsford and team BC gave us some golden years.
Surely Sky have earnt the right to have their name on kit, besides the fact that they pay for that honour.
Bit odd to put out pro shorts
Bit odd to put out pro shorts but only a replica jersey. Or do they just assume people wearing these will only be pootling along to Box Hill once a month if the weather’s nice?
Nothing against Wiggo, but
Nothing against Wiggo, but the SS Jersey would look much classier without the text, or at least make the text smaller.
I love the colours and style
I love the colours and style of the jersey.
But having Wiggins, Rapha and Sky stamped on it, makes it utterly unwearable with any notion on maintaining your self respect or that of the majority of cyclists.
Though maybe I just care too much about what other people think.
