New for 2020, Transitions’ 150mm all-round ripper, the Sentinel gets a serious update. The new bike gets adjustable travel through swapping shocks, a full carbon frame and tyre clearance for bigger mtb rubber.

With three all new models, the Sentinel promises to be the perfect bike to chase EWS podiums or make you feel like the ultimate weekend warrior.

The Sentinel full carbon frame is built using a special blend of Japanese Toray fibre with special blend of 24T and 30T materials in the pursuit of the perfect stiffness, impact toughness and strength balance.

Transitions special EPS moulding techniques allows for sharper frame lines and a tighter edge radius control which helps achieve a greater strength to weight ratio and reduces any waste material.

With a longer 62.5mm stroke shock, the Sentinels travel gets a bump to 150mm. That travel can also be reduced by swapping the shock for one with a 57.5mm stroke which will bring it to a slightly more playful 140mm. Thanks to its 24% overall progression with a linear rate of change, the Sentinel frame will work well with both are and coil shocks.

Speaking of suspension, the frame only and XO1 options get a Fox X2 Performance Elite with the GX and NX builds getting Rockshox Super Deluxe shocks. Up front, the 160mm of suspension is handled by either a Fox Float 36 Grip 2 Performance Elite on the XO1 and a RockShox Lyric on the GX and NX builds.

Sram Code brakes stop the bike paired with Sram Eagle drivetrains to get you going. With rubber from Maxxis, there’s a DT Swiss M1700 wheelset on the XO1 build, the GX and NX models get wheelsets from Stans.

The rear triangle now has space for a 29×2.6″ tyre and the rear brake routing is completely external for ease of service. There’s also space for a water bottle in the front triangle with an accessories mount beneath the top tube.

Transition has taken full advantage of the OneUps range of longer dropper posts on the market. By combining them with super seat post insertion depth the Sentinel gets a 150mm dropper on the SM build, 180mm on the MD and a lengthy 210mm on the LG-XXL frames.

As with the rest of the brands lineup, the Sentinel gets SBG geometry, so that’s a 476mm reach on a large, a 63.6 head tube angle with a 70.8 degree seat tube angle and a 1263mm wheelbase on a size Large.

The new Transition Sentinel comes in sizes S up to XXL and in two colours, Ti Grey and Loam Gold.
