Strava Premium members will now receive new perks that will include insurance and discount from companies such as Wiggle, an offer that includes all of us in the UK too.

It was the offer of insurance from Sunday’s Insurance that really caught our eye. The insurance will cover any accidental phone or GPS damage (whilst using Strava), including taxi reimbursement for any mechanical failings whilst out on a ride. We don’t have enough fingers to count the number of friends we have that have smashed a phone whilst out riding and have then subsequently spent months attempting to read texts through a spiders web of cracks. From the information we can find Strava will reimburse its Premium members £350 for a damaged device. It’s likely not the retail value of your iPhone 7 but it’s better than a kick in the teeth!

Currently, Strava Premium membership will cost you £5.99 monthly or £44.99 annually.

David Lorsch, VP Strategy & Business Development at Strava says Premium is the best way to get the most out of Strava.

“We’re committed to continually developing new features as well as introducing these new perks for athletes.”

“Premium is our all-out effort to keep athletes safe, improve their performance, and to make every activity as enjoyable as possible; we’ve carefully selected partners and providers who share this same ethos.”
