Danny MacAskill releases third episode of his Imaginate series (+ video)

Street trials ace carries Olympic torch, scouts a location and heads to Fort William for the World Cup

Danny MacAskill has released the third video in his six-episode Imaginate series, once again giving an-depth, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the street trials ace’s work.

This episode follows the 27-year-old during what was one of the high spots of his 2012, when he carried the Olympic torch in Glasgow while performing a trick or two on his bike – a track pump proving a handy stand-in for the torch in practice – as well as seeing him scout a location and start working on the storyboards for his next film.

He also heads up to Fort William for the Mountain Bike World Cup, but strictly as a fan to cheer on his friends, the Atherton family – in the process finding a rather unique use for that Olympic torch.

Simon joined road.cc as news editor in 2009 and is now the site’s community editor, acting as a link between the team producing the content and our readers. A law and languages graduate, published translator and former retail analyst, he has reported on issues as diverse as cycling-related court cases, anti-doping investigations, the latest developments in the bike industry and the sport’s biggest races. Now back in London full-time after 15 years living in Oxford and Cambridge, he loves cycling along the Thames but misses having his former riding buddy, Elodie the miniature schnauzer, in the basket in front of him.
