Eurobike 2009: Day -1 update: We've got more bikes!

This is what we came for! Slap bang outside the new press centre the Viva Duro - singlespeed, double tubed, wooden rimed and fixed. It doesn't get more retro with a twist than this. 

Not sure what happens if you leave the rims out in the rain, but it is from Denmark and it rains there too… plenty of varnish, we reckon. We'd certainly be interested to ride this baby. Spot those Cook Bros - replica we reckon - cranks. Nice. Viva are available in the UK so we will update with more details soon.

Included is the new Giant Accent commuter bike with integrated lights, brushed aluminium frame and an adjustable elastomer-based suspensenion. The all-up weight on the road.cc scales was 11.8Kg (26lb) - not light, but not lardy, and if style and utility are your thing… No details on UK pricing yet, but Giant tell us that if it does hit our shores it will do so in October - eurozone price is €1,499 which should give a clue to the likely cost in £s.

We've just added more pics to the gallery of the new range of Cannondale Bad Boys - gone is the singlespeed option and in its place a choice of three-speed or eight-speed hub or 2x9 compact chainset derailleur options. More details on these soon. The three-speed Bad Boy with its new 'stealth' tubeset - no, Cannondale aren't making any performance claims for the tube shape, it 'just looks good' - tipped out scales at 11Kg (24.2lb). The three-speed also has some nice touches like grey anodised bars. On the rest of them it's black and more black - according to Canondale, they tried to make every component, bar the chrome seat collar and the headset, black. Well, if you've got a theme, run with it.

We also like the Quick Ultimate - shown here as a concept bike last year, it's a cyclo-cross derived light trail or road bike, full carbon frame with some interesting touches - check out the two-bole seat adjuster integrated into the seat tube.
