Justin Bieber almost causes entire cycling team to crash

Canadian pop star ran out in front of Axeon Hagens Berman team in Malibu

Riders from a US-based cycling team reportedly almost crashed while on a training ride in California when a man ran into the road as they approached – the careless pedestrian turning out to be none other than Canadian pop star, Justin Beiber.

The near miss, involving 16 riders from the Axeon Hagens Berman team who were reportedly riding at 40 kilometres an hour, happened on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu on Wednesday morning, reports VeloNews.

The UCI Continental team’s media co-ordinator Sean Weide said that following the close call, rider Colin Joyce recognised the 21-year-old – whereupon the whole team turned round and posed for pictures with him, with Latvian under-23 champion Krists Nielands posting this video to Instagram.

It’s not the first time we’ve featured Bieber on road.cc – in 2013, CCTV footage emerged of him riding a bike ‘borrowed’ from a security guard at a Las Vegas casino, his escapade halted by the arrival of two rather imposing gentlemen who also worked there.

So let me get this straight, they were on bicycles and capable of 40+ kmh. Justin was on foot. They could easily have escaped but decided to go back for selfies.

Sometimes I despair of ever understanding people.
