Chris Froome seems likely to miss the UCI Road World Championships in Richmond, Virginia later this month as a result of the fractured ankle he sustained when he crashed at the Vuelta last week.

Team Sky principal Sir Dave Brailsford confirmed to BBC Sport that the Tour de France champion won’t be able to ride "for a couple of weeks.”
Asked about the prospects of the 30-year-old racing at the event in the United States, Brailsford replied: "It looks unlikely. The fracture will take a while to heal."
Froome, bronze medallist in the individual time trial at the London 2012 Olympics, had been named on Great Britain’s long list for that event, as well as in the squad for the road race.

Update on this: apparently it's all their Ti frames ever, except the HT Ti (no, no idea why). However, it's not transferable.

So who will be our protected leader. Was hoping it would be G before I saw he was riding la vuelta.
Not seen the course though so not sure what type off rider it suits.
The course has cobbles and is technical, there is 100m climbing per 10mile lap and 16 laps - 1600m climbing, with most of it backloaded in the lap - http://richmond2015.com/about/courses/road-circuit/

Of the above - I'd suggest Stannard, Swift and Cavendish as the three best bets depending on the way the race plays out - it could be won from a tiny break, a selective bunch or a full bunch sprint...
