We all know about the worries in the peloton over fans trying to take selfies with riders – remember the concerns over last year’s Grand Depart of the Tour de France in Yorkshire, or the aspiring pro who grabbed himself one with a rather spent Marcel Kittel at the end of Stage 3 of the Giro in Dublin?
Well, you can now get a selfie of yourself with Peter Sagan photobombing your picture without putting either yourself or the Tinkoff-Saxo rider at risk, thanks to an initiative from German phone giant Telekom in his native Slovakia.
The campaign promotes is 4G service, and goes by the name S4GAN.
Despite language barriers, it’s surprisingly easy to get your own Sagan ‘Fotobomb’ – we’ll talk you through it (although if you have Google Chrome as a browser, you can make life easier by using the ‘translate’ feature).
First, head here and click on the ‘Nahraj Selfie’ button.
You’ll have two options, ‘Vyber Z Disku’ and ‘Vyber Profilovku Z Facebooku’ – respectively, that’s roughly upload a picture from disc, and upload a profile picture form Facebook. We’d recommend the former.
After it chugs and whirrs for a while, your picture will appear and you’ll get a choice of Sagan pictures – including one where he’s taking a selfie, one in which he’s looking a bit stern, side-on, on the bike, and one in which the cheeky scamp is winking.
So select whichever one you prefer.
Those three buttons underneath your picture translate, respectively, as motion, straightening, and size. So sort that out.
You’ll have two options bottom right now – ‘Zmenit fotku,’ which is ‘Change photo,’ and ‘Uloz a zdielaj,’ which is ‘Save and share.’
Go for the latter, check the terms and conditions box (disclaimer – we’re not well versed in the nuances of Slovakia law, so you may be selling off our first-born for all we know) and you’ll get an option to sign in with Facebook.
Do that, and that’s job done – you’ll get an email once it’s approved, with a link to your picture. Share away, and please post them in the comments below …
Actually, taking a selfie while a Grand Tour stage is in progress may be more dangerous … but it’s probably easier.
Still, enjoy … here’s one of a certain former world champion with Sagan that we did earlier.

I came to say the opposite, I always liked Giro shoes but they're insanely narrow. I hope they did change the fit.
