Video: Moreno Moser in Chronicles of the Green Machine episode 1

23-year-old who leads Cannondale Pro Cycling at the Giro stars in opening film from team's new series...

We mentioned last week about Cannondale Pro Cycling's new video series, Chronicles of the Green Machine, and here's the first episode in the series, starring Moreno Moser, who on Friday starts the Giro d'Italia where the team is led by two-time champion Ivan Basso.

The series takes a lighthearted look at the backgrounds of the team's riders and what they get up to when off the bike. In Moser's case, there's a strong artistic bent, whether that be through drawing or playing music.

Given his family background - his uncle Francesco won the Giro d'Italia and World Championship road race, and his father and two brothers have also ridden professionally - it was inevitable that the best way the 23-year-old would find a way of expressing himself was on the bike.

Simon joined road.cc as news editor in 2009 and is now the site’s community editor, acting as a link between the team producing the content and our readers. A law and languages graduate, published translator and former retail analyst, he has reported on issues as diverse as cycling-related court cases, anti-doping investigations, the latest developments in the bike industry and the sport’s biggest races. Now back in London full-time after 15 years living in Oxford and Cambridge, he loves cycling along the Thames but misses having his former riding buddy, Elodie the miniature schnauzer, in the basket in front of him.
