Former pro cyclist Rohan Dennis has been reported for allegedly driving whilst disqualified, according to South Australia Police.
Police said officers stopped a 36-year-old man from Medindie shortly after 4 pm on Thursday after observing him driving a vehicle, with two children as passengers.
The vehicle was impounded for 28 days, and the man will be summoned to appear in court at a later date. Dennis has not publicly commented on the allegation.
Earlier this year, Dennis was handed a suspended prison sentence and five-year driving disqualification following the death of his wife, former Olympian and world champion cyclist Melissa Hoskins.

Hoskins, 32, died on New Year’s Eve 2023 after being struck by a vehicle driven by Dennis outside the couple’s home in Adelaide. Dennis pleaded guilty to an aggravated charge of creating a likelihood of harm.
Prosecutors later withdrew charges of dangerous driving causing death and aggravated driving without due care.
During sentencing, the court heard that Dennis was not held criminally responsible for Hoskins’ death. Her family acknowledged that he remains responsible for caring for the couple’s two children and said they wished to continue playing an important role in their lives.

Following the case, Dennis publicly said “it was an accident. I loved Melissa and the last thing I ever wanted was to hurt her. Never in my life did physical aggression even enter my mind during a disagreement with Melissa.”
Dennis, a two-time world time trial champion, won stages at all three Grand Tours and the Tour Down Under in 2015 before retiring from professional cycling in 2023. Hoskins was a world champion in the team pursuit and represented Australia on the track before retiring from professional cycling in May 2017. The couple married in 2018 and had two children.
