A new catch-all Tea Shop thread for those miscellaneous new stories that don’t quite fit with parking, crashing into buildings or trapped/prisoners in their homes.

It’s a shame that that page
It’s a shame that that page doesn’t have the video and Waverley Council, which originally posted the video on Twitter, seems to have taken it down as well – legal reasons, perhaps? I caught it early this morning before it was taken down from Twitter, absolutely hilarious watching the bin man calmly watching the idiot slide down the bank with a “Oh look, there’s another one of them” expression.

The Council have now
The Council have now published the documents on this matter. It seems the plan was to turn part of the side of the property facing Swinegate into a garage, complete with turntable so the vehicle emerges going forward.
That seems quite ambitious for a medium sized property in a town in Lincolnshire – you’d have to like a property a lot to put that kind of investment in, I’d have thought.
Local knowledge needed – did this all happen?

[b[Florence Pugh’s father
Florence Pugh’s father hits out at low traffic neighbourhood scheme as his cafe closesI might be wrong but I assume that, for an LTN to impact on a cafe, they must be have had a high level of cars stopping and therefore there must be available parking. I don’t know this area and so this comes from Google but the roads surrounding the café appear to be permit holders only (therefore the customers can’t stop there). There are four spaces for 30 minutes parking on the main road, but they’re not going to be sufficient for the café (and aren’t impacted by the LTN). The nearest road which may provide parking and has an LTN is Temple Street, but if you’re lazy enough to not want to drive the two minutes to go to the other side of the bollard, you would probably be too lazy to walk the one minute from there to the café.
To me, due to the lack of parking in the area, I can’t see how the LTN has had a negative impact on the café.

1800 ? They measured 10,000 in a week on a suburban residential road in Ipswich, one of the below the line commentators claimed it was “anti car” to highlight that kind of speeding, especially as no one got killed.https://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/23684363.calls-stop-speeding-cauldwell-hall-road-ipswich/
