    If in doubt try the
If in doubt try the Competitive Cyclist fit calculator, was pretty close to perfect for me:

The Canyon is a fabulous bike. Absolutely love mine.

I’ve no doubt so are the Bowman Palace and the Kinesis Athlein.

Get the one you want, that will make you happier and you’ll ride it more.

    Chains are still made in
Chains are still made in Imperial measurements (1/2″) s it’s more accurate to use a steel rule marked in inches and 32nds of an inch and measure over a longer distance.

Measure from one side of the link to the same side of the 12th link. 12 new links (inner & outer) of a tight new chain is exactly 12″.

1/32 over? be cautious, measure again.
    1/16″ over? New chain.

    Works for me, anyway.

If it’s pneumonia you’re talking about, I couldn’t get out of bed for more than an hour for a month.

Your nastier sort of common cold can leave you with fatigue, can be nasty if it is hard to shift. Take it easy.

Can I put a word in for
Can I put a word in for Specialized All Condition Armadillo Elites? Thousands of miles of p****ure free riding including a lot of inner-city glass-strewn streets, flinty lanes, the lot. Grip well, too, when run in.

    If you’re asking about the
If you’re asking about the Infinito, with that spec it’s about 6.45kg on my bathroom scales.
As new, it was around 7.3kg with Ultegra and Fulcrum 3s.

    53/39, no sympathy!
I grew up with a heavy 70s Raleigh with 52/40 and that was MTFU gearing, none of your 34 bale out gear to drop down into when it got steep.
But seriously, use a bigger cog on the back as has been noted above, get out of the saddle and get your speed up. Nothing else to do really except train more.

    My home built Bianchi
My home built Bianchi Infinito, first model.

It just got some new wheels for Christmas.

    Campagnolo Super Record
    Campagnolo Shamal Ultra
    Syntace Racelight 2 bars
    Syntace F109 17º stem
    Syntace HiFlex seatpost
    San Marco SLK saddle
    All tuned with titanium bolts.
    Weight now under 6.5kg.

New tyres too, Vittoria Diamante Pro 25c.

Such a smooth bike now, really all I might ever need or want. And anyway, the other half thinks its so pretty she won’t let me sell it!

Have you actually ever ridden a bike Nathan? Perhaps a bit of context would help. Budget. Expectations. Go and see if you can test ride one in a shop and report back etc.

Use a tyre boot. One normally comes with your p***ture repair kit, or use two layers of gaffer tape, or a gel wrapper, or something similar. It may make a lump in your tyre.

Sounds like maybe vandalism though? Never heard of a screw going straight in like that before.

No, because I can’t trust anyone else to pick the right size/colour or titanium/carbon enough.

Basically I don’t want the other half knowing how much decent gear costs!

Sounds like b*llocks to me. What about the baggage room in the middle of the train? Why can’t they put in some hooks there? And why doesn’t the timetable allow people to get bikes off? Talk about the cart leading the horse!

    Shimano 6700s are over 1600g
Shimano 6700s are over 1600g with rim tape. I found them a dull unresponsive wheel. My Fulcrum 5s (2014, with the bigger axle) though heavier feel a much better more lively wheel.

Fulcrum 3s are excellent too, stiff and lively. It’s not all about weight.
