I guess then the cost of avoiding that sub is manually copying/recreating the workout steps provided by Zwift and populating the calendar. Is the reason you want to transfer to Garmin to be able to do them outside? Otherwise I think I’d just do the plan indoors directly in Zwift.
I’ve only ever used a Garmin Connect training plan once, for a knee injury recovery, and I simply added in some power & time interval steps that the physio gave me.

So if you have the workouts
So if you have the workouts files converted to FIT, instead of adding them directly to the Garmin device, could you import them into Garmin Connect, then create a new training plan in the GC calendar using the workouts, adding day by day?

I wonder if the team handing out the cameras realise that their colleagues processing the submissions will be doing sod all about them?

Crane do make nice bells, I’ve put the E-NE Revolver on the commuter/shopper, loud enough and sounds like an old school bicycle bell.

Unfortunately, the logistics
Unfortunately, the logistics of this event (assuming you mean l’Ètape du Tour rather than Caledonia or Dales) are always going to be difficult due to the distance between the start & finish.
I’m going to wait until there’s another edition that starts & finishes at the same place. I was booked to do the 2020 edition which would have been Nice-Nice. I had that on a fairly low cost budget, DIY rather than a tour operator. I had Eurotunnel return crossings booked, and a cheap campsite just 8km away at Cagnes-sur-Mer, so only travel cost to add to that would have been fuel & tolls. Of course it was postponed in 2020 to 2021, and then cancelled altogether. Thankfully fully refunded tunnel, camping and event entry
I can’t see a non-circular route being easy to arrange logistically, without trusting your bike to the bike transfer service or booking via a tour operator.

Look for a GPS computer that has multiband, for example the Garmin Edge x40 series (1040, 840, 540). They can track more than one frequency from each individual satellite, improving accuracy. This combined with the option to use more than one system simultaneously (e.g. GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO) will give the best chance of getting a fix from the overhead satellites, although nothing will be totally infallible as ultimately, you are receiving a weak signal from over 12500 miles away, it’s weak enough for wet leaves to block this.

I guess they’re not removable posts? Before writing off, I’d consider taking it to a local frame builder and see what they say. If they’re not keen on bending it, maybe cut the old post down, and then either drill & tap a new one in, or even braze one on. I’ve got Sven Cycles local to me, and he did something similar for a colleague with a seatstay light mount.
Personally I wouldn’t be keen on bending it myself if it’s aluminium.

The Cycling UK forum has a for sale section, I’ve not used it myself, although I’m going to give it a go, as I have some bits to move on and it’s probably going to be a better seller experience than eBay has turned into.

Would it be Italy instead of France and 22 not 23? Strade Bianche features a climb like that at the end, is not a main classic (yet), and was very windy causing a huge crash.

I always treat horsists and their mounts with respect whether on two wheels or four. It makes sense, 750kg, 1 horsepower, no steering, no brakes and capable of uncommanded movement. Wide berth.

Would a petition questioning the policy likely get enough traction for 10,000 signatures? The government “policy” as such is just a way of defining commercial vehicles for tax purposes, which is the correct thing to do, otherwise it would be free-for-all on VAT reclaim on ordinary cars. The issue with crew-cab pick-ups being used instead of company cars is what’s known as a “loophole”. Over the years, the government has sought to discourage this by raising the BIK, it’s currently nearly £4k, back in the mid 2000s when the manufacturers started putting more comfortable interiors in them, the BIK was only £500.

Should be OK then, although
Should be OK then, although there’s been a few versions of the out-front mount – the crucial part for the adapter to fit is the two lugs underneath (one shown in arrow of picture).
