This is what I do and it
This is what I do and it might help to reduce pinches, I talkum powder both the tube and the inside of the tyre, put one bead on, the talk reduces friction, insert partly inflated tube, other bead on, then inflate to around 20psi, then with the wheel lying on the floor or in the bike in the workstand, fully deflate before pumping to the desired pressure.
Bit messy, powder goes everywhere, but it works for me. Oh and wipe the talk off the rims .

There is never anything wrong
There is never anything wrong with a cheery good morning/afternoon/evening.
Unless you are at work and someone arrives a tad late, then a hello can never be taken as sarcasm.

Every so often give them a little squirt of dryish lube, then they can work well for many years. I had noticed that my evolution lock that I leave at work had developed a bit of rust on its internals when I started working again after the new year, luckily one of my fellow cyclists had brought in some muc off dry, so a little bit and now its smooth again. I will treat my new york chain in a bit, give the sleeve a wash and 3 in 1 the chain to stop it squeaking. Sometimes thats the noisiest part of my ride.
I have even used the dreaded wd40 on the padlock for the bike shed in my last place of work, just frees things up a bit. Very little that mechanical lasts for too long left out in the wet and cold.

The paramedic already had 6
The paramedic already had 6 points on his licence, so not his first bit of substandard driving.
You’d think he might have attended some horrific crashes caused by speeding motorists.

I tried zinc and selenium
I tried zinc and selenium supplements for a bit, said to help boost the imune system.
Eating well and getting lots of sleep (ahem…) can never hurt.
The main one is good hygene, was those hands properly and often, and try to not touch those mucus membranes of the eyes, nose and ears.
And get a flu jab, 8 quid at Tescos. I spent more on decongestants and analgesics for my last cold to make it a little more bearable.

Good luck with your quest. I
Good luck with your quest. I am lucky that my better half “accepts” my bicycle habit, even though my commute at the moment is filthy and a lot of the dried slop piles up on the newspspers.
My tip concerns more of your normal garden shed, they get damp and any tools left in the shed will rot a bit too quick.

Not sure if it’s the same for a trainer as it is on the outside, but if your cassette is too worn for a new chain to work, and you were to continue using the old chain, it will cause terrible things to the chainset and then things start to get proper expensive.
I think new chains and cassette. Do you have a chain wear indicator? Not perfect but you get more use out of the cassette, have to keep changing those chains though.
I’m going to rohloff my new bike, so I don’t really need one now, but rohloff make a casette wear checker, wish I’d known that years ago. Found it strange that a company that makes the casette redundant makes a device for checking them.

Had some Tire Flys a while
Had some Tire Flys a while back, white ones first, then red white and blue, more trouble than they were worth really. Drunk people loved them.
If you are determined, adaptors can be found so that scraeder caps can fit presta. But that would add a lot of bulk.

Lots of need for open fires and log buring stoves in summer, which is probably why there is never any pollution during the warmer months.

I have found shimano freehubs to be kind of quiet, especially as they wear in.
The woods can often be full of the sound of angry bees. Mainly Hopes, though I understand Chris Kings are even louder.

Mate, if you cannot signal
Mate, if you cannot signal then don’t, be aware of what is going on around you and don’t make sudden unpredictable movements.
I realise that we shouldn’t always compare ourselves to motorists, but many seem physically incapable of using their finger to move that little stalk attached to the steering column.
Myself, I like to signal, but will not when it is safer to not do. Sometimes it’s better to be covering those brakes and being prepared to steer out of trouble.
