Timbuk2 large courier bag.  Bit bigger, but good compression and you can really fill it.

    Building my ultimate commuter

Building my ultimate commuter at the moment.  Surly Ogre, going to fit a boost rohloff with 27.5 x 3, but my commute is sloppy at the moment, and only going to get worse.  There was a couple of dry weeks in June.

If the commute changes to more road, will fit 29 rims and a faster tyre.

Even got a can of (very expensive) JP Weiglys Framesaver for the inside of the steel.  Prepping for the long haul.

When I purchased my first helmet, 25 years ago, it was to the ANSI/Snell standard.  The standards were lessened with the introduction of the CE standard.

My MIPs helmet squeaks a bit more than my previous non MIP helmets.

I hope never to require it, but that is the whole helmet thing anyway.

POCs new SPIN system seems interesting.

As previous poster has suggested, get the LBS to change it, all the parts will be made to fit together, for a start the sealing will work better.

Respro ankle bands.  Fluro yellow for the day, flip them over at night for the 3M scotch lite side.  Bit pricey, but last for ages and you can wear them with whatever shorts or leggings you have.

I would heartily recomend the Gore oxygen 2.0 jacket, still gets a bit sweaty, but nothing can be that breathable.  I tend to wear my pearl Izumi Softshell for most riding though.

    VeloUSA it’s only $15.

    VeloUSA it’s only $15.

Much as I am against this tax, it might just encourage people to keep their old bike going a little longer, maybe helping the LBSs to earn from the repair and replacement business.

Don’t forget the second hand market, it’s not all about new bikes.

I am a little biased, I have not had a brand new bike since september 1992.
