I ordered a CF 8.0 SL as well, at the start of September, with a delivery date of first week in December.  Having heard nothing I contacted Canyon yesterday – during the second week in Dec. – who told me that the bike would now not be ready until 1st week in March.  This has screwed up my plans and needless to say I’m really p**sed off with both the delay and complete lack of info from their customer services.  By the time I get the bike (if I don’t cancel the order) I’ll have waited 6 months for it and they will be announcing the 2020 models a few months later!

That’s astoundingly bad customer service, even for them. You’re mad if you don’t cancel the order.

If this is true, you obviously just received an email intended for the Chinese market who don’t give a hoot about Armistice day.

Its quite amusing to witness people find new and exciting ways to be outraged.

I was able to get refunds for hotel and train because I cancelled 48 hours ahead of time. I wish other event organisers would have the balls to make early decisions – its 2018 and short-term weather forecasts are reliable. To hope that the forecasts and wrong and wait til the last minute to cancel is monumentally stupid.

That’s shocking. I can’t see myself ever ordering from Canyon after reading this and other, similar stories of appalling service and quality.

Is it too late to get your money back and go to a proper store?

I’ve been using them since November and the 302’s are amazing, they’re the best ‘do it all’ wheels I’ve ever used.

Agree with the comments above – I’m a convert to tubeless now. Still carry a micro pump and inner tube for emergencies (but have never had to use one).

No. Its a selective youtube video, why would anyone think it accurately reflects the state of cycling in London? Wierd question.

Well it’s clear you haven’t been following too closely. Research which countries export the most to Greece and benefited most from its inception into the EU. Research which vampire squid of a bank has its ex-employees scattered throughout the EU and helped Greece cook its books to enable membership. Research the key reasons that the troika held Greece’s hand to the fire during debt and Grexit ‘discussions’, and where the banks that hold the debt are based. Research what has happened to the Greek employment, suicide, HIV and AIDS rates (mainly among the young ‘uns) since the credit crisis Then you might not put the blame at Greece’s door in such a simplistic manner.

I hate it when people post about “do your own research”. This is a well known tactic used by conspiracy buffs to hoodwink people with poor researching skills into believing a whole load of tripe (e.g. chemtrails, flat earth, electric pyramids etc).

If you’ve done any research and have knowledge, then share it around, otherwise shut up about it.

Oh fuck off. You really don’t want me to post this in its entirety, but for the eejits who can’t infer the key points: Greek debt crisis led to massive spikes in HIV, AIDS, suicides and unemployment among innocent citizens, mainly of the younger generation who hadn’t had a chance to tax dodge. Hence the idiocy of the ‘if you hadn’t dodged tax…’ argument, one not espoused by Paul Mason (name checked by Leviathan). German and French (mainly) banks held most of the debt that the troika were chasing down – the troika that was peppered with Goldman Sachs employees, the same Goldman Sachs that encouraged Greece to fiddle their accounts to get EU and Euro membership in the first place. The troika, Germany (Schauble being the bulldog) and the EU, during negotiations with Greece, decided that bouncing back to the drachma was not an option, and that a certain number of Greek lives being fucked via the ongoing austerity was worth the banks receiving a certain amount of their debt back. Germany stood to gain massively through its exports (incl defence) to Greece being in the same currency. They turned a blind eye to the dodginess during the Greek accession. If you think that’s flat earthery, I salute the naivete of your worldview.

Why not just say all that in the first place?

No offence, but surely you understand that 99% of the answers you get to this question are going to be from people that do not actually own a Mason, right? Honestly, do you expect the consensus to be anthing but ‘don’t bother’?

If you’re interested in one, go for a test ride, speak to Dom – there ye shall find the answer to your question.

Then go to Evans and test ride a Trek or whatever. Its not rocket science.

My other half ordered a women

My other half ordered a women’s version of the sppedmax to arrive in late September 2016. It didn’t arrive and we literally had to chase them every week – we did not get a single notification from them. We cancelled the order in November as it was just a stressful and unpleasent experience dealing with them. We were going to Aus in December and wanted to take the bike, and we felt completely at their whim like we had zero control and we lost faith in them delivering before our trip.

She paid a bit more for something through the LBS – it was ready the next day and she got a free fitting chucked in.

They’ll never see our money again.
