There is also a version of these for a round rather than oval hole. I’ve even used them when the hole isn’t exactly a fit with some adjustment
Unfortunately whatever hosting site you used to show your photos isn’t allowed through my firewall so I apologise if it is obvious they won’t fit.

Huh, ‘marginal gains’ from a cream? Creams prevent skin chafing; to much is as bad as too little. Not to be facetious, but what kind of ‘gains’ do you expect a cream can provide?well as I have to explain it. Some creams are argued to be better than others, so I thought I would ask the collective, their experience of different creams in an attempt to decrease any chaffing I may get. Sorry I didn’t meant to be so cryptic in my first post.
Not tried solid tyres but i use Schwalbe durano plus (folding bead)I do 5000 miles a year commuting through a major city (lost of glass, pot holes and other debris, nearly hit an abandoned kids scooter in a cycle lane last week)

Get an 11-32 – even the pros use them. Ignore the supermen/women in this thread boasting about being able to climb Everest on a fixie or whatever. You might need a longer rear cage though.The only issue I have with such wide cassettes is that the jumps between gears often prevent me spinning at the right cadence for a given power, but thats it.

Depends on the hills you climb and the amount of weight you lug up it. I’m 93 kilos I can generate a fair amount of power and hold it for a while, but get me on exmoor things like the steep version of porlock hill and a route over the moors a 32 is required.
I’ve gone from Buxton to Barnsley and back on a 25 at the rear, then did it again on a 32 so much better than grinding it out.

Cheers for all the advice guys, bought an airshot, tried a few times then had to remove the core and pump it to 145psi, tyre popped on nicely then.
