I normally clean my cx twice
I normally clean my cx twice a week in winter, I have on it my stand and check everything all the time. If I was to draw one positive from all the issue I’ve had, it’s that I am a much better bike mechanic than I was.
Ok where do I start. 8 months
Ok where do I start. 8 months in………………..2 sets of cranks as they kept falling off, 3 Bottom brackets plus 2 sets of bearings, front mech bowed out and has been replaced with a Sram rival, front shifter broke, 2 free hubs only 4 weeks apart and the rear mech doesn’t sit as straight as it should straight . I am now on first name terms with the staff at my local halfords. When it works its great, it just doesn’t work that well very often.

I am torn at the moment, but the Synapse has always been on my Short list, also like the GT Grade and the Fuji mentioned, but the price has gone back up on that. I really want more of road bike than a do anything bike as I have my Boardman CX Team, although that might go back for a refund. Decisions decisions!

I have ran gatorskins for a few years now, and find them very good in all weathers so far, I changed to 25’s two years ago and will never go back to 23’s.On long rides, it’s so much comfier and i feel less shattered, rides on bad roads are so much better. I also have 32c Duranos on my CX which i use as a commuter, they are fantastic and I have done some fairly long rides on them as well, including crappy roads over Exmoor. 28’s will be my next tyre of choice!

Good to hear, I have a set of SKS Chromoplastic’s sitting around, but I was thinking more along the lines of proper old fashioned mudguards that last forever. Also will it take larger tyres, I quite like the 32’s on my Boardman CX.
