I doubt the relative humidity is really that low. The dew point might be -30 °C, but that’s still 30% humidity outside. Still, there’s hardly any water in the air at that point, so unless you humidify your house the indoor air will be single digit %RH.

These things and other cheap ebikes are the culprit around me. At least they have lights, but there’s no beam cutoff or even brightness settings.
They have much brighter lights than the one that came on my wife’s Townie Electra, which cost more than twice as much.

We (society) would probably get a lot more value out of using the sensors, computers, and controllers that were intended to enable self-driving cars, to give us self-stopping cars. Cars that refuse to drive into people or buildings, go too fast around corners, drive on the wrong side of the road, or drive onto pavements. If it needs to be over-ridden for legitimate reasons, the car could go into a 5 MPH mode.

Well that’s no good – I like to read your handle as ‘Andy’s tow’ – like you’re always happy for some poor struggling soul to jump on the wheel for a bit – but that capital ‘S’ has gone and ruined things.Sorry to ruin it. I don’t spend a lot of time being drafted. When I ride with the fast guys, I end up hanging onto the back. When I ride with slower riders, they generally won’t draft even if I encourage them to. So my group rides are either zone 1 at 12 MPH, or zone 4 hoping they’ll ease off a little bit soon.
I enjoy both, of course.

If you haven’t seen it, Peoria Area Scanner & Dashcam has a video of it from a dashcam posted on Facebook.
I came up on the accident while they were loading the victim onto the stretcher. It was a 19 year old girl, she actually responded to the dashcam footage on FB and said that she broke her back in two places.
My husband broke his back this summer so I now know more about spinal fractures than I ever thought I’d need to know. I reckon she’ll have an easier recovery at 19 than my husband’s had at 44. A lot of people were praying for her today, I’m so glad that she’s (relatively) ok. There was a fatal accident practically spitting distance from there in July, in that case it was a drunk 16 year old who killed her friend 🙁

I can’t find a news story, but this is just across the river from me. It’s done quite a number on that telephone pole. I’ve biked on this stretch of road about a half dozen times.

I disabled my X/Twitter account months ago when my feed was filled with thinly disguised porn, racism, and “watch people die” videos.
I mostly miss cycling Twitter and the World Bollard Association. I’m on Reddit, which is way better than X, but I may try BlueSky.
It will be worth the time invested, I’m sure. Hoping that you’ll post a review of some kind.Based on my experience with the Hunt wheels, I might do a review on their durability in three or four years.
