Sweet new Sidis for Bahrain Merida

Special edition graphics look very, very cool

The newly formed Bahrain Merida pro team will be racing this season in these Sidi Shot shoes.

We wouldn’t normally run a story telling you this kind of thing but these shoes do look very neat.

Team Sky’s three-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome first revealed Sidi Shots last summer.

The Bahrain Merida special edition graphics are mainly red and white, representing the Bahrain national flag. The blue is intended to represent that Bahrain is location between two seas, and the gold finishes “recall the culture and tradition of the Bahrain Kingdom’s royal household”.

We just think they look super-cool! We don’t know if this colour scheme will be available to the public at any point, but we’ll find out.

I wonder if these were tested for durability by team-owner Prince Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa himself? But just how many pro-democracy protestors would he have to kick to simulate the stresses of an entire three-week tour?

Agree, they do look a bit like some 80's Diadoras, must be the gold.

Anyone else think the new Sidi are looking a bit, well, dated?

The Wire were nice, if not exactly futuristic. The new ones look like they could be an older model.
