Coventry and the West Midlands have a similar (ish) scheme to trade in an old car for £3000 worth of credits for public transport, ebike hire, ebike purchase, etc.

Not quite as generous as the French scheme but at least some councils in the UK are exploring this idea.

UK government is still painfully slow with active travel, cycling and ebikes but always happy to get into excited about self driving cars and subsidised electric cars.
