Next year's edition of Bike Blenheim Palace which for the fifth time will encompass the Brompton World Championships is set to grow on the weekend of 18 – 19 August to two day's worth of the kind of eccentric cycling fun and games that have made it a 'must-do' on the cycling calendar.
Apart from the Brompton World Championships themselves, a top-level 40Km time-trial that was won last year by Michael Hutchinson and Sarah Storey and a choice of sportive rides that head out into the Oxfordshire countryside, next year the organisers are adding a 40Km off-road sportive, cyclo-cross races and a 1Km Sprint.
The organisers are also developing a test track for disabled riders and promising a wide range of children's races including a Balance Bike Championships for under-5s.
Best of all, so that everyone can easily stay over for the weekend there will be camping and what the organisers are describing as "festivities" on the Saturday evening.

This is good news. My main
This is good news. My main feedback this year was that sportive riders ran the risk of not seeing the Brompton Worlds (which is what happened to me and a few pals) so hopefully they will put them on separate days. Oh and with any luck they’ll retain the bacon rolls on the sportive 🙂
Can I just add as a former
Can I just add as a former resident of Woodstock (now living a few miles further up the road into the Cotswolds) that it is an absolutely charming place to spend a weekend if anyone has an OH who needs persuading 😉
