If you want your road bike to look proper Pro, or you fancy getting featured on SLAM THAT STEM, then you’re going to need a stem that’s long. And flat. And that’s what you’ll get with the new ST35 stem from KCNC.
Designed with a 17° degree drop so it’s perfectly horizontal on a road bike with a standard head tube angle of 73°. You could, of course, fit it the other way up. Just don’t. Okay? It’s available in three lengths: 110mm, 120mm and 130mm. Want to look Pro? get the long one. It might be too long, but you’ll just have to grin and bear it. Tommy Voeckler doesn’t ride around on a pokey short stem.

The stem features "a chamfered square cross section to give a really stiff stem for roadies who like the extra torsional stiffness", and this being KCNC it’s pretty light at just 128g for the 110mm, helped by full Titanium hardware. It’ll set you back £58.99, which looks pretty decent value.

When we were at the last Vitus launch we asked Sean Kelly why he’d gone for a 130mm stem on the new bikes. The look we got said it all 😀

Ok, i had a bike fit, so i my bike was fitting perfect in every way, but i wanted the bars nearer, so i run a 40mm stem, guess i’ll never be pro :”(

In the Vitus adverts in the main mags Mr Kelly is slapped with hair gel… we don’t think he would go for this look in real life…. how boring  (might improve his commentator presence NOT)
