Luton cyclist seriously injured after crash involving police car on 999 call

A cyclist in Luton has been seriously injured following a collision involving a police car as officers responded to a 999 call.

The incident happened at around 4.15pm yesterday afternoon on Montrose Avenue, reports ITV News.

The male cyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance and was said to be in a serious condition.

His family was notified and Bedfordshire Police are providing them with support.

Police carried out an investigation of the scene of the collision.

In line with standard practice, the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which has opened an investigation.
