We’re not asking for much this #mycyclingweekend! Really, all you’ve got to do to win a prize from Cycle Surgery is take a selfie while you’re out and about this weekend.
The much maligned photography trend isn’t something that’s recieved a great deal of hate here at road.cc.
If anything we’re pro-selfie (no, we’re not – ed).
What’s not to love about a photo of yourself having a great time? Especially when that great time involves two wheels and a beaming smile.
Of course if you don’t want to be in the photo of what you were up to this cycling weekend we still want to see it, whether it’s riding, fettling, putting some miles in on the turbo or maybe watching a race.
As always, though, there’s one caveat to the entry requirements of our weekly competition and this week there’s a rather obvious bonus caveat too. First the usual one:
REMEMBER TO INCLUDE THE RELEVANT HASHTAGS!
Every week we see some #mycyclingweekenders forgetting to include the all-important #CycleSurgery hashtag.
It’s not rocket science. You simply will not win without including both hashtags.
And the rather obvious bonus caveat?
IF YOU’RE TAKING A SELFIE DO IT SAFELY – YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE RIDING YOUR BIKE. DEFINITELY DON’T TAKE A RIDING PIC IF IT’S NOT SAFE TO DO SO.
Anyway. Before we get totally bogged down in boring admin, here are a few of our favourite recent #mycyclingweekend selfies:

Yes you can take too many
Yes you can take too many dull, boring and self obssessed selfies. I’m just not interested. One or two of the photos on this page would actually be quite scenic, if it did have you in them. Or any of the stupid hashtag rubbish underneath.

I’m not a fan of selfies either, but I think we’re in the minority on that one. If you don’t like ’em though don’t take one. That’s how I solve the problem
So taking selfies whilst
So taking selfies whilst riding a bike is something road.cc advocate?

No. We assume that the people who use this site are intelligent and adult enough to make their own minds up about whether they want to take a selfie or not and whether it’s safe to do so or not.

But you still post one of a rider taking a selfie while riding? If there was a #driverselfie and drivers started taking photos of themselves and pistonheads published them would you think that was contributing to the problem?
