World champion Peter Sagan pulling a wheelie is nothing new – but just take a look at the gold wheels on his bike as he performed the stunt yesterday in Adelaide on the eve of the Tour Down Under.
The bike is a disc brake-equipped Specialized Venge, and those wheels are the CLX 64 disc model from the brand Roval, owned by the US bike firm, and which normally come in black.

The Slovak rider was back riding his regular Specialized Venge ViAS in today’s opening stage, where he led out Bora-Hansgrohe team mate Sam Bennett to third place.

We’ll try and get some more information on that special, disc-brake, gold wheel version, though.
Given the comments on Sagan’s tweet, it’s fair to say those gold wheels split opinion, though.

He’s not always my cup of tea, but he is a class act and road cycling would be 38.17% duller without him.

I think a certain Mr Trump has spoiled the image of heavily gilded things, no that they were ever tasteful.
Perhaps he could flog them to Alexander Vinokourov to go on that gold bike he got for the 2012 Olympics?

good thinking – also maybe hire Cippo as his image consultant and get all matching socks, shoes, hat, and bar tape
At least he’s wearing black
At least he’s wearing black shorts this year to offset those gold wheels.
