The driver caught on film passing a cyclist on the wrong side of the road at traffic lights in Whalley Range has been reported to the police.

The footage, which shows a white Audi overtaking another car while turning right at traffic lights, has been passed on to Greater Manchester Police by Greater Manchester Cycling Campaign (GMCC) who believe the incident fits the legal definition of dangerous driving.

A person drives dangerously when “the way they drive falls far below the minimum acceptable standard expected of a competent and careful driver” and “it would be obvious to a competent and careful driver that driving in that way would be dangerous.”

After studying the video, GMCC also suggests that the lights may have changed before the driver came through.
