Drug pedallers - Essex bike cops find cannabis factory

Officers cycling past industrial unit became suspicious due to smell

Police in Essex have discovered nearly 1,000 cannabis plants in an industrial unit in Chelmsford after two officers on bikes became suspicious about the smell coming from the building.

Essex Police executed a search warrant on the premises in Waltham Road, Boreham, yesterday evening, with Inspector Lee Devall tweeting images of the raid.

According to the Essex Chronicle, 991 plants were found, being grown hydroponically and three men were arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and are being held at Chelmsford Police Station while officers continue their enquiries.
