An 11 year old schoolgirl was killed by an allegedly drunk driver in the middle of Friday afternoon in Grimsby.
Jodie Rodgers was hit on Park Street by a blue BMW 320ci at around 4.25pm, and was airlifted to Diana Princess of Wales Hospital with serious injuries from the collision.
She later died in Leeds General Infirmary.
A 35 year old Grimsby man has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, and released on bail.
Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, or anyone who saw either Jodie or the car prior to the incident, are asked to call 101, quoting log number 320 of September 25.
On the same day, a 48-year-old man required treatment at hospital after being knocked from his bicycle by a passing vehicle.
The incident happened at 11.45am on Thursday September 17 at the junction of Main Street and Vicarage Close in Watton near Driffield.
The cyclist was overtaken by a white Ford Transit van which is alleged to have caught him as it passed, knocking him off his cycle. The van continued on without stopping, possibly unaware of the incident.
The cyclist suffered bruising and went to the Driffield Minor Injury centre for treatment.
Anyone with information is asked to ring 101 referring to log 310 of September 17.
The two incidents are not thought to be related.
