A witness appeal has been launched after a cyclist was found on Dartmoor earlier this week with what police describe as “life-changing” head injuries.
The 68-year-old man, from Essex, was discovered at 4.50pm lying unconscious on the B3212 road between Postbridge and Moretonhampstead, say Devon & Cornwall Police.
The cyclist was taken by helicopter to Derriford Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
Officers are tring to discover how the man, who is believed to have been riding alone, came to be injured and have asked anyone who saw him cycling in the area to get in touch.
He was wearing an orange jacket, black cycling shorts and a red and white helmet and was riding a white Dawes road bike.
Anyone who has information is requested to call police on 101 or by email on 101@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk quoting log number 635 of 26/08/15.

Great if you have reception, but it’s pretty patchy round there & on the Moors.
Echo the sentiments on his condition and the cause.
