Here’s a date for your diary if you are in or around London early next month – Spin Xmas, a festive edition of the successful Spin London show, will be hitting Shoreditch from 5 – 7 December.
Whether you’re looking for inspiration for Christmas gifts for friends or family, or simply looking to treat yourself, it’s the perfect opportunity to find some of the coolest cycling brands around under one roof.
With DJs performing, it’s also a bit of an excuse for a party before the festive season gets under way in earnest.
Taking place at Rochelle School, Arnold Circus, E2 7ES, the free-to-attend show follows a successful collaboration last winter with the London Coffee Festival, although this time round the beverages, including mulled wine, will be supplied by Craft Beer Rising.
As with all Spin events – the Spin London exhibition is set to head to Central London in May next year following two successful editions at the Truman Brewery in the East End – there is a strong lifestyle emphasis, including an exhibition of illustrations by up-and-coming artists, courtesy of Spoke London.
Organiser Alex Daw says: "Spin Xmas is the perfect opportunity to stock up on cycling-related Christmas presents – we'll bring together dozens of interesting cycling brands under one roof.”
“We’re excited about Spin 2015 too, which will be our biggest-ever show. We want to appeal to cyclists of all kinds – commuters, mountain-bikers, club riders and of course the fixed gear and single speed crowd.”
The fun starts at 5pm on Friday 5 December, and thanks to the London Cycling Campaign, there will be free, secure bike parking at the school, which is just a couple of minutes’ walk from Shoreditch High Street station on the London Overground.
Even better, in a bid to encourage people to arrive at Spin Xmas by bike, the first 50 people who do so each day will get a free ticket for the Spin London show next May.
You can find a list of exhibitors and much more information here, and that page also has a link to secure your free ticket.
Meanwhile, Spin London is confirmed as taking place at an as yet uspecified venue in the city centre, running from Friday 8 May to Sunday 10 May, and will include a test track and race circuit. Here’s a video of this year’s event to give you an idea of what to expect.
