If you’ve got a Shimano Di2 groupset you’ve probably attached the junction box underneath the stem using the supplied rubber strap, which while it works fine enough isn’t the most elegant solution. It also occupies space on your stem which can make fitting a computer a little more tricky.
RaceWare Direct, the small British company that specialises in 3D printed computer mounts, this week revealed a much neater solution into their ever-expanding range. It’s a steerer tube mount and simply replaces a spacer underneath the stem (unless you’ve ‘slammed’ your stem) and floats the Di2 junction box underneath the stem, removing the need for the rubber strap entirely.
We will also be offering our new di2 junction box mount in #3Dprinted titanium as well as plastic pic.twitter.com/tbeJTtxnkD

They’re going to make it available in two versions, plastic and titanium, with the former weighing a claimed 2g. The plastic version, available in nine colours, will cost £15, the titanium one £40.

In other news, RaceWare have also produced a Garmin mount for Brompton bikes so if you’re a regular commuter who likes to Strava their commute, this is an option for you.

I like the Raceware Direct
I like the Raceware Direct stuff. There seems to be constant innovation and new products coming out regularly.
Though I have had to make my own bodged Magicshine mount to sit under my Garmin our-front mount. An old reflector bracket bolted to a trimmed down light bracket, stainless bolt and voila! Now the light sits centrally under the Garmin.

My ‘attempt’ is admittedly not as nice as that! I had a look on your site but didn’t see the Magicshine fitting – I had expected you to have one though – and you did!

Here you go. On the hunt for a couple of stainless bolts to replace the rusty items. Sure I’ve got some in the shed… somewhere.
Nice mod Sam – I’ve got a box
Nice mod Sam – I’ve got a box of old mounts, might do a bit of modding myself

I used a front reflector bar mount then a rear Smart R1 mount to bolt to it. Had to mod it using a Dremel saw to take off the springy part and the channel that attaches the light in order to make a flat platform, then put a hole through it for the Magicshine bolt.
It came about because I was looking for something to do on a cold October night and had an idea that the bar mounted Magicshine might glare off the Garmin screen. Last year I wasn’t using the out front mount, so it wasn’t a problem. Didn’t think it’d be a sturdy as it is, only time will tell!

I like that raceware have got hold of a 3d printer and are just sat there working out loads of little elegant solutions to stuff like this.

Yes, that mount will hold the Toro or the Strada.
A titanium stem
A titanium stem faceplate/mount would be nice. I suppose there are too many stem designs to make it feasable.
A Printed Titanium faceplate
A Printed Titanium faceplate could be made but would be several hundred pounds due to the size of the part, 3D Printing in Titanium is still not cheap and is mostly driven by the volume of the part, this is why we currenly only produce small titanium items such as the chain catcher.
