Following hot on the heels of the release of Garmin’s latest Edge 1000 GPS computer, K-Edge have launched a specific out-front handlebar mount to accommodate its extra size, the XL Mount.
Alternative out-front computer (and specifically Garmin) mounts have been very popular in the past couple of years. We’ve even done a roundup of the best alternative mounts available. K-Edge specialise in such mounts and they’re all CNC-machined from aluminium and very nicely finished.

The bigger unit size or the Garmin Edge 1000 has prompted K-Edge to produce a mount capable of accommodating it. They've made it 7mm longer than the regular K-Edge Garmin mount that we reviewed last year, providing the extra space necessary to float the Edge 1000 in front of the handlebar. It’s backwards compatible with current Garmin computers like the 800/810 and 500/510, handy if you have an existing device.
It’s available now from www.madison.co.uk and costs £32.99.It’s available in Anodized Red, Black or Gun Metal and fits 31.8mm bars only.

I notice the plastic insert now compared to the older versions, which I used to own. It stops them ripping the back of the Garmin if you swap it around bikes a fair bit.

Anyone know if 3T/Garmin are going to produce an updated mount plate for their Integra Stem? I spent a small fortune on one and now looks like the 1000 will be too long for it. E-mailed 3T and Garmin but no reply yet.
