How they do things in Oregon

Avatar

The growth of cycling is a hot topic in the Pacific North West of the US of A. The proposed solutions to the problems of global warming and falling fuel prices include taxing bicycles and a new fuel tax that manages to combine the worst aspects of socialism - protection of inefficient and failing industries with the worst aspects of free market economics - imposing a tax that doesn't take account of people's ability to pay it and which rewards the rich, and the inefficient. Oh, and it's rather enviormentally short sighted too. Genius.

Here's a great over-view of the Oregon bike tax furore from, er… Bristol

His favourite ride is his ‘commute’ - which he does most days inc weekends and he’s been cycle-commuting since 1994. His favourite bikes are titanium and have disc brakes.
