Jack has never won a bike race, but does have a master’s degree in print journalism, and two Guinness World Records for pogo sticking (it’s a long story).

@mitsky You are quite correct. Unfortunately there is no joined up thinking in local and central govt. Separate incomes and expenditures are considered as stand alone profit or loss entities without joined up thinking

If the pollution is harmful the answer is to curtail the pollution. Cyclists are not the only victims. Everyone using roads and even living close to them is affected. Clear precedents exist in the UK on how to reduce harmful pollutants from motor traffic for example the LEZ and ULEZ in London. It is odd that the academic is not recommending such schemes.

BCP Council should introduce charges for cars parking in a lakes and ponds. That may help make up the shortfall.

@SVXY wow and in what way did the lady wearing sandals contribute to the inability of the so called "highly qualified driving instructor" to avoid mowing her down? Isn't it more a case of him not seeing her simply because he didn't look? Or did he actually mean to knock her off her bike and then try to minimise the consequences of his actions (like many criminals do). You don't know and neither does anyone else apart from the criminal! So could you save your sympathy for the actual victim?

20s penalty when you draft
20s penalty when you draft the moto’s for 3/4 course, typical bs ‘penalt’. It’s deliberate so needs harsher, that’s why riders, not just Aru will continue to cheat this way, sticky bottles etc. Nibali his fellow countryman did one of the worst examples of this not so long back.
I bought narrow replica/lookylikey CF mudguards from RSP years ago, not much difference in weight but all the advantages of traditional mudguard materials.
Oh and well done to Raleigh, people getting about doing ordinary everyday stuff who happen to be on a cycle without feeling the need to adorn them with superfluous attire.
