Known for his successful stint at Mercedes, F1 star Valtteri Bottas has also been a long-term ambassador with Canyon. Often sharing his gravel escapades on his social media channels, it’s clear that gravel’s his new game, and to celebrate his racing number, 77, Canyon has put together a rather special Grail.

It’s no coincidence either. Bottas’s race number of 77 coincides with what Canyon says is one of the best years for disco — 1977. With that, the brand has leaned into Valtteri’s strong moustached, mullet-wearing aesthetic with a heavily disco-themed Grail.

Speaking of moustaches, Canyon’s designer, Lukas Beck, has adorned the Grail’s head tube with a neat nod to Bottas’s furry upper lip, combining Canyon’s usual head tube logo with a silver moustache shape.

Elsewhere, the Grail CFR VB 77 is a disco ball on wheels with mirror ball graphics found at the top tube and downtube.

As a SRAM-sponsored rider, the bike is equipped with the brand’s flagship gravel groupset, Red XPLR AXS, featuring 13-speed shifting and a full-mount derailleur that eliminates the traditional UDH hanger.

The bike then rolls on a set of Zipp 303 XPLR hoops with 54mm deep and 32mm wide rims.

Wrapping up the bike is a host of Canyon’s own kit, including the CP0047 Gear Groove Pro cockpit, Ergospeed Gel bar tape, and the SP009-01 seatpost.

If you’re looking to join the party and pay tribute to Bottas himself, Canyon’s CFR VB 77 will set you back £8,350, but be quick, there are only 100 available.
