Here’s the terrifying moment a stunt that a mountain biker tried on a rock formation in Utah very nearly ended in disaster with the rider inches from plunging hundreds of feet down a cliff edge to almost certain death.
The rider, named Yuri, was attempting to jump across a crevice on Gooseberry Mesa near St George, and was being filmed by his friend Nate Howard.
Misjudging the jump, he went over the handlebar, while the bike – with his feet still clipped into the pedals – went over the edge, thankfully not dragging him with it.
We’re guessing that the laughter that follows is due to a huge adrenaline surge – but we also suspect that shock will have set in later once he realised just how close a call it had been.
