Sidi release Giro edition Shot shoes

Thanks to Sidi you can now get Giro-themed cycling shoes to match your Maglia Rosa, and they're available to buy now from selected retailers

Ahead of the Giro d'Italia in May, Italian cycling shoe specialists Sidi have marked the occasion with a special Giro Edition version of their Shot premium race shoes.

Review: Sidi Shot
16 of the best performance road cycling shoes

The Shots are the official shoe of the 2018 Giro, so if you feel a Maglia Rosa is a bit too much and you'd rather show your Giro devotion in a more subtle way (or alternatively want some shoes to match it) then these could be up your street. The uppers are predominantly grey and black from Sidi's Matt line of colourways, with pink details to give them their Giro theme. The Shots have Sidi's top-of-the-range Vent Carbon sole, that can be opened up to allow more airflow or closed for cooler conditions. Other highlights include a replaceable heel pad, adjustable heel retention device and an anatomically shaped plastic heel cup to reduce slippage.

The Shots are Chris Froome's footwear of choice, with the four-time Tour de France winner aiming to add the Giro to his list of accomplishments next month. The 2018 Giro will become the first to start outside of Europe when it kicks off in Jerusalem on 4th May.

The limited edition Shots are available from selected retailers now. The RRP is 389 Euros, and so far we've spotted them here on Rose Bikes for £338, less than the £350 RRP of the original versions that we reviewed last year.

Jack has been hooked on cycling since his student days, and currently has a Trek 1.2 for winter riding, a beloved Bickerton folding bike for getting around town and an extra beloved custom Ridley Helium SLX for fantasising about going fast in his stable. Jack has never won a bike race, but does have a master's degree in print journalism and two Guinness World Records for pogo sticking (it's a long story).
