GT85 sprayed on after a good clean.
I use two different Muc Off's to protect my bike.
Silicon Shine

Bike Spray

Best thing I have ever tried, although a can only lasts two coats on the trike, but one coat lasts me a few months and in that time, I've cleaned it around 6 times
Have you tried muc off bug and tar remover?
I bought it for the car but used it on a stubbon stain on the bike and it removed it in seconds.
I'd recommend doing a test area first under the bb just to be 100% sure it doesnt damage the surface finish. My experience of it has been very good. A little goes a long way.

I also polish my bikes after cleaning and i find it means i don't use the bug spray as frequently
Worth a try?

I have heard like bashthebox said the best way to clean it is to be preemptive
Spray Mr Sheen on after you've cleaned and dried it. I'm not joking, it really makes it easier to clean the next time.
I have a similar problem with my supersix - has a matte finish and comes back from dry rides with dust clinging to it. I'm going to give it a bloody good clean then a coat of this stuff to see if it helps:
