Man jailed for 30 years for using car as murder weapon (Grauniad)

Quote:

A driver who left another man for dead in the road after dragging him more than half a mile in a “cruel” revenge attack will spend at least 30 years behind bars.

Martin Eastwood, 22, killed Liam Dent, 25, using a stolen Ford S-Max as a weapon after a minor confrontation outside a pub in Chessington, south-west London.

...

The court heard that Eastwood had been convicted of two earlier incidents in which he used a car as a weapon.

Ah.. so now we know what it takes.

He's only 22..  so he must have avoided custodial sentence twice previously before actually killing someone on his third attempt.

The law seriously needs to change, sentances must be prevent people from committing crimes. This is sickening.

Third time's the charm!

At least he'll be allowed to drive again when he gets out.

The previous judges who let him off should also be charged with assisting an offender, the way his girlfriend was.
