Cycling artist projects moving elephant onto walls +Video

An artist in Switzerland uses his bicycle to ride the streets of Zurich while projecting the silhouette of a moving elephant onto nearby buildings – something we imagine could instil alarm into passers-by caught unawares.

Citylab.com reports that artist Michael Flueckiger brought together a projector, car battery, speedometer and iPod Mini to produce the images for his work called Elephant Walk – and the faster he pedals, the faster the elephant seems to move.

As works of art go, it’s a bit disconcerting, although that doesn’t perhaps come across in the video.

But imagine, if you were riding down the road at night, and saw the silhouette of an elephant picked out in the beam of a searchlight … you’d be looking for it, wouldn’t you?
