Family Bicycle Cruise to Street Velodrome, Worthing
As you are all no doubt aware, the Street Velodrome is coming to Worthing in August. Following the huge success of the Kids Easter Bike Ride along the prom, we are arranging another and aiming to get even more riders out together!
The plan is to meet at the Wind Shelter at the bottom of George Fifth Ave (there is free parking) at around 9am on the Saturday morning. We will then ride all together along the Prom to the official opening of the event at 10am on Beach House Gardens.
I have chosen Saturday for the kids ride as they will be able to try the Velodrome on that day, plus there are two HGVs (one from Sussex Transport and one from T J Waste) on site demonstrating how cyclists and large vehicles can safely share the road. I did this with my truck at the Get Cycling event last year and it was a huge success for Children and Parents alike!
Note - this is just the cruise to the event, for full details of the day head to Worthing Street Velodrome on Facebook or go direct to the Council website at http://www.adur-worthing.gov.uk/street-velodrome/
This is going to be a cracking weekend of cycling, there will be TV crews, professional racing, side stands and displays, and on Saturday - LOADS OF KIDS!!!
TBH, this kind of stupidity is best ignored. By publicly responding we're giving them free publicity.
Unfortunately politics is the problem. Our councillors pander to the anti-cyclist NIMBYs, especially when local elections are due. The government...

Can't we just move them to Guernsey? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crrdnkyvpjgo
Nice looking wheels but I can't afford that. I'm looking for some nice, wide wheels to optimally run 32mm tyres on.
Wow! Pogacar does not shy away from top competition. This is fantastic. And I am going to be there.
Doesn't the significant part of chain wear happen inside the rollers? I can't see how a bit of wear on the outer part of links and rollers could be...
I have occasion to be in this part of Midlothian more often than I'd wish, I know this route quite well. Despite the current A7 being one of the...
