Video: On-bike camera gives great view of Peter Sagan's California win

Peter Sagan came second in the first three stages of this year’s Amgen Tour of California. Yesterday though he made it fourth time lucky as he won in Avila Beach despite a couple of tight corners inside the final kilometre – and on-bike footage gives a great view of his bike handling skills.

The rear-facing camera was on the bike of Drapac Pro Cycling rider Graeme Brown and shows the Slovak rider taking those last two bends then powering through in the home straight to win from Wouter Wippert and Mark Cavendish.

It’s his second win since joining Tinkoff-Saxo, and surprisingly only his third in the past 12 months – though last July he won the Tour de France points classification without winning a stage.

And while he retained his Slovak national title in June last year, that race is held jointly with the Czech national championships, with Sagan finishing second to the Czech Republic’s Zdenek Stybar.

Unsurprisingly, then, he celebrated yesterday’s victory in typically exuberant fashion as this video shows.
