At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

The Tenn Outdoors Bib Shorts Pro are made from a nylon and Lycra mix with flat-lock stitching throughout. The bib straps are generously wide and spread the pressure across the top of the shoulders well. The last thing you want is the straps digging into your shoulders, and these don't.

The leg openings are lined with silicone gripper tape which keeps the shorts in place, preventing them from sliding up your legs when you're cycling. A large mesh panel fills the back of the bibs, which helps to avoid overheating.

They're simply styled shorts with the contrast stitching and a splash of colour on the legs, along with the logo running vertically along the side. A handful of reflective dots at the lower legs provides good visibility for other road users either behind or approaching from the side.

Providing the all-important comfort on the saddle is an anatomically designed single layer pad, with an anti-bacterial treatment. It's a simple insert, but is well shaped and sits smoothly against the body. Best of all, it's surprisingly effective, providing decent cushioning for rides last a couple of hours long.

Considering the £30 price tag the level of comfort provided here is really good, and puts some more expensive shorts to shame. You can choose from five colours so you can coordinate them with the rest of your kit and your bike, if you're that way inclined.

Verdict

Proving bib shorts don't have to cost a fortune, these £30 shorts are surprisingly comfortable and fit well

I had a Tenn jersey when I started out. It was absolutely fine. Nice colour, too, and a great undemanding fit for an occasional jaunt.

Hi everyone

I got these Bib shorts recently and felt compelled to review them as they are very, very, very good for the price. The material is very good, strong but very comfortable. The pad is fantastic for the price I paid, £22.99 on their ebay store.

Sizw wise they are pretty much bang on. I'm by far a spelt cyclist I'm a 36 waist and I have pretty big thighs, kinda on par with Roberto carlos or say Marcel Kittel lol and the Large fits well. The bib is light and not constricting at all. Grippers are very neat and don;t cut into the skin.

I will definitely be buying more Tenn clothing due to this buy, as I am very impressed and as the review above states, puts more expensive shorts to shame.

Got a fair bit of their gear as I'm a fat git and they go up to 4xl all of it seems good for the price. Bought a pair of Funkier bib tights just recently and for the extra £20 ish they do seem better. But would happily recommend them to people starting out. Bought all of my Tenn stuff off Amazon never tried e-bay.

I use a lot of Tenn products for commuting/short rides. The service from their eBay shop is outstandingly good. The prices are very low for decent quality kit.

The shorts are good value and the pad is fine - the leg grippers are tight and I've not got tree trunk thighs. My Assos are my first choice for long rides but these Tenn pads are far from poor for even 2-3hr rides.

I have the cold weather gloves, they're pretty bulky and sweaty, but for the money, pretty good.

Certainly compared to my crap 'extra cold' seal skinz ones that were expensive, cold and get soaked.

I've been riding in these for the last 6-8 months. They're excellent!

Had a pair of Tenn mtb baggy shorts/liners, and a pair of mitts for about a year now - and they're great.
Personally the liner isnt a patch on the Endura clickfast that I also use, but for the dry I almost prefer the cotton-y Tenn baggy to the more crinkly, plastic-y Endura one. Mitts also great.

Same products sold through their discount store at www.cycle-clothes.co.uk - even cheaper!

Have got a pair of Tenn overshoes. They're great value for money and pretty decently made. I've been very happy with them. Only issue is that getting the heel over my mtb shoes is very tricky, and I may have been better off with a bigger size, but I think with road shoes they'd be absolutely fine.

These were a medium tested, and they fitted me well, perhaps a tiny bit on the snug side, so if you're not sure probably best to size up. Or try them on before if you can?

Thanks, if that's you in the pic and they're snug on you, I may go up to XL, as I have been mistaken for the back end of a bus from behind 11

Any guidance on size? Reviews on Amazon suggest ordering a size larger, as is often the case with cycling kit - I'm not a bloater but neither am I an Italian stick insect...
