Team Madison-Genesis are riding the Tour of Britain at the moment, and they have a brand new Genesis Zero frameset for the race. The new Zero is very much an evolution of the previous Zero, Genesis' first carbon frame, but with a number of tweaks to improve the performance.

Phil Hammill, Genesis Brand Director, said: “We have made a succession of small changes to the frame this year that all add up to make another significant performance gain.  Since last year’s hugely successful launch, the Zero has proven itself at the highest level.  Both the team and customers appreciate its great ride characteristics and handling so we focused on weight reduction whilst refining some of the design detail.  It is great to announce the bike to the world at this year’s Tour of Britain in arguably its biggest year and we can’t wait to see how the team get on.”

The frame looks more or less identical to last year's model, but under the skin there's been some major changes. Genesis have moved to a new mix of 30/40 ton carbon and managed to drop 120g from the frame weight, meaning that the frame is now 960g in a medium size: that's a significant weight drop. 

The forks, on the other hand, have been completely redesigned. The have a new slimmed down and tapered shape with a truncated aero profile, and Genesis have managed to shave 90g off the fork weight. So in total the frameset has lost over 200g thanks to the updates

Team Madison-Genesis are competing aboard the top-of-the-range Z.i bike, with full Dura Ace Di2 and PRO Vibe finishing kit from Shimano. There will be cheaper Z.1 and Z.2 builds too, and the frameset will be available on its own too. The frameset will retail for £1,099.
