I think the days when the UK
I think the days when the UK could mock US obesity levels are over! Partly due to the Lip Service Only attitude to exercise and Active Travel, we are now the Fat Man of Western Europe.

No, the Met thought it was
No, the Met thought it was something to do with an offence against a cyclist, so they followed Standard Operating Procedures and binned it.

    One car appears to have

One car appears to have crashed into the Deichmann store

It’ll be another ‘electric car/ pressed wrong pedal hard/ massive acceleration’ story. I actually witnessed one of these which demolished the men’s toilets in Garstang- anybody in the way of that rocket car would likely have been killed- I wonder if these electric cars have a mode which prohibits lift-off acceleration in the first couple of minutes after starting? Anybody here got one? We have to hope that the insurance increase keeps him off the road, because the police won’t be doing anything. Yet more ‘air ambulance’ rubbish when all the air bags went off and nobody was hurt (is my guess) and vast amounts of money were wasted all around the incident.

Wow! Two lying ‘I’m a cyclist
Frustrated residents hit out over ‘waste of money’ roadworks
Wow! Two lying ‘I’m a cyclist myself’s in quick succession, both shown to be pretty thick by the use of the same old ‘any money spent on provision for cycling is a waste of money’ but I’m a …

DVLA has told employees that vouchers previously issued for team Christmas lunches will no longer be available as it looks to ‘ensure responsible use of taxpayers’ money’
Well, they’re certainly not wasting any of it on enforcing VED payment! To save repeating the Lilian Greenwood/ DVLA/ BF64 TGE saga, it’s about halfway down here:

to be fair to West Yorkshire
to be fair to West Yorkshire Police (who are rubbish and institutionally anti-cyclist) they do publish the stats.
But we don’t believe them! Lies, damn’ lies…etc.

    Another resident said it took
Another resident said it took around 25 minutes to drive the length of just seven cars in the estate
The Joy, The Joy! It’s got ‘prisoners in their own homes’, it even has ‘it’s ridiculous’- doesn’t get much better than this! I only wish you’d added ‘Do Not Read until Christmas Day or your birthday’ or any other day of potential increased happiness. It seems rather wasted on just Saturday night.

Aha! So now the merit of the wtjs (patent pending) italicized message beginning becomes apparent!

    This is what’s required –
This is what’s required – close roads to vehicles if the drivers can’t keep them the right side up
You bounder! Where does it state that a driver has been responsible for any of these ‘vehicles overturning’? The roads should be closed only to self-driving vehicles!

Research was also underway by the Police and Speed Camera Partnership (PSCP)…

Oh dear! Whenever these investigations/ research/ comments come from one of these rubbishy ‘Partnerships’, you know that it’s not good, no one organisation is responsible and the ‘umbrella body’ is simply another level for people to hide behind, consult with etc.

An unusual one in that a)

An unusual one in that a) there was a prosecution b) and for dangerous driving c) AND it succeeded (and led to imprisonment)

Well, Kent Police certainly had their wishes granted there! 2 proper fatalities, unlike all those  ‘close passes’ from the whingeing cyclists who couldn’t even be bothered to get KSI’d and where the police refuse to even look at the video.

Yes, they loved that dodge! Insisting on minutes of video AND that it had to fit inside an email, which limited file size to 25MB, so they could claim the video wasn’t good enough. Almost as useful to them as the 14 Day Dodge, which allows them to be always too busy to respond in time

    Can a Scotland resident with
Can a Scotland resident with a camera enlighten us on this, and on the current state of the ‘I can’t remember the incident’ Get-Off Dodge? In any case, don’t get your hopes up too much: Lancashire has had the OpSnap portal for years, but that doesn’t stop them binning all cases involving reports by cyclists. What I have learned is that individual forces can’t ban submissions to the national OpSnap portal (which then seems to send them out to individual forces) from people they don’t like (people with FHD quality evidence of offences committed by drivers- which they definitely don’t want to know about), or Lancashire would have barred me by now- just like they blocked my email address when I was getting too close for comfort.
