I’m also on the lookout for a new bike along similar lines. I’m not bothered about tubeless, but basically I’m looking for a road bike with disc brakes that will take wide tyres (preferably at least 32mm) and full mudguards.
So far my shortlist is:
Decathlon RC520 + better wheels
Ribble CGR – not sure exactly how I’d spec it, but probably aluminium frame and 105.
Planning to use the bike to work scheme, so I’d probably go for the CGR – I can get a discount on a whole bike but I wouldn’t get one on the wheels for the RC520.

A 1-1/4 inch tyre would
A 1-1/4 inch tyre would almost certainly be marked as 32C. If you were to measure the actual width that would vary depending on the width of the rim, tyre pressure, etc, and would probably be somewhere between 30 – 32mm.
I’m not sure how useful your baseline is. I have 28C tyres, if I pump them all the way up to the limit on the sidewall it’s a pretty harsh ride, but if I let a bit of pressure out they’re fine on most roads.

Top of the list is the Toyota Prius (popular as a taxi), after that it’s mostly the sort of cars driven by teenagers, quite a few BMWs too (possibly company cars with high annual mileage?).

before i got furloughed, my twatty boss started telling me about the cars theyd owned in the past, a load of lies, but i pretended to believe them. Apparently they owned a lot of fast vehicles, and one time they got caught speeding at 120 mph in their subaru impreza, but luckily, they knew a policeman who got them off in court, even though they got given a total of 20 points including that offence. That doesnt happen! Police officers can’t get people off, if its down to the court, its up to the judges what happens to the defendant, the police officers testimony is only to help the judge grasp the situation.Perhaps your boss’s policeman friend belongs to the same Masonic Lodge as the judge 😉

At the moment with bikes it’s probably largely a question of what you can get your hands on. I think any of the 3 you’ve looked at would do the job. Decathlon do a Tilt 500 folding eBike that’s also worth a look, although availability might be an issue.
