I’m in a similar situation. I looked at prices and new jockey wheels were £11 and a new derailleur was £45, so I bought the jockey wheels. I have yet to fit them.
So did you manage to get a new derailleur for £21, and if so where?!?

Basically, it’s a cheap way to extend the life of the road surface.

A brief update – the first
A brief update – the first hearing was on Monday, I didn’t attend. I haven’t been told the outcome of the hearing yet, so I don’t know if I’ll be required to give evidence.
Emailed to ask what happened at the hearing, they said they’ll chase it up for me if I still haven’t heard anything in a couple of weeks. Trying to remain patient.

If you can find a cycling
If you can find a cycling event at a motor racing circuit, that’s probably your only chance to ride on smooth tarmac.
I’ve done the British Heart Foundation ride at Goodwood a few times, although it wasn’t on this year or last year.

My last helmet lasted 7 years. The foam pads started to deteriorate, so I replaced the helmet instead of trying to find replacement pads.

You can put whatever text and images you want on a hi-vis vest.
Quality was very good, although check the sizing carefully as it’s much bigger than you might expect.
Personally, I found that wearing it made very little difference to the number of close passes I was getting and I stopped wearing it when the evenings got brighter.

I’ve never had any response beyond “we got your submission” to any of my reports on any of Hampshire’s systems.

I have one of these, which is quite useful for getting a rough idea of what’s behind you.
Rubber strap seems to be holding up well so far, although I expect it will eventually snap.

I mostly did OK, but I missed a couple and was a bit slow on some.

I haven’t been scared off the roads completely, but my list of local roads I’m not willing to ride on has gradually increased. I also seem to spend a lot of time planning routes and staring at Street View to try and avoid dangerous roads.
There are some quiet roads in the countryside near me, the kind of road where you see almost as many bicycles and horses as cars.
