Carlton’s on about Halfords
Carlton’s on about Halfords biased survey.. where it suggests number plates for cyclists.. proficentcy tests for cyclists before being let on the roads.. it’s defo bad timing.

Good to hear about the random number generator 🙂

Si, it is indeed the same weekend as Ride London – which makes it a no go for me. I’d really like to do the Dynamo, but getting into London with a bike that weekend rules it out for me.
What about any similar rides, is there anything similar to the Dunwich Dynamo?

Why are you selling it?
Why are you selling it? Surely it’s a perfect bike for winter?
2 year old bike, entry level Ti frame, with 105, you won’t get what you want that’s for sure. I’d estimate a grand..

where do you find the ex-racing bikes?
I stumbled upon a ‘national level’ team selling them off at the end of the season, it’s not uncommon. You can also search for ‘bike sponsors’ who get them back at the end of the season and sell them off cheap. Like Windymilla, Condor etc..

Lots of very valid points
Lots of very valid points here, I’m currently in a similar situation.. I’ve made a list of things I want from a new bike (I can’t have it all) and have then put pro’s and con’s against a shortlist. However as much as I look at my list, the pro’s and the con’s, my heart is seemingly still ruling… the desicion I’m currently leaning towards, is a very expensive winter bike which ticks less boxes than other cheaper models would. The decision is driving me a bit mad at the moment.
The canyon is a very good bike by all accounts, my mate has one and does very well with it, however he does complain every now and then about not being able to get low enough on it (quite a long headtube).
Bear in mind that you ‘could’ by a raced team bike for half the cash they cost new.. bit of a risk I guess, but I took that risk and managed to get a top of the range bike for literally half price after seven months of racing, admittedly it needed a new bottom backet, cassette and rear hub wheel bearings.. but all told that cost me about a ton, I’m still saving nearer 3 grand.

Horrid. Wishing you all the best, agree the BC lawyers seem to have developed quite a niche for this.

No you can’t, it’ll cock up
No you can’t, it’ll cock up the tension, bring your mech too close to your 32cogs and probably explode like a Samsung mobiel phone, also I’m pretty sure than you’ll also get arrested for being so daft to think that you’re the only person to have thought of this.
In seriousness, it may be okay with a non road standard front/rear cogs.. and maybe a campy set up but not for ‘normal’ shimano road gearing.

1) Velotec (ireland)
1) Velotec (ireland)
2) ÂŁ38 there are cheaper but this is the best one we can get for ÂŁ38 – have tried a number of other kit suppliers over the years
3) Easy to deal with, issues have been solved hassle free, good value for the money – YES. Not perfect by any means but for ÂŁ38, yes.
You get what you pay for. Often you’re paying for good service, which IMO is worth paying for (or just set a very low expectation bar). If it’s cheap you want then go chinese, you can get jerseys offa china for as low as ÂŁ23 which I’ve seen (may have changed now with the exchange rates?). You cannot please everyone, don’t try to, it’s seriously not worth the hassle. I don’t know how many are in your club, but kit ordering is a thankless task and even if you do get thanked, it doesn’t make up for the time you’ll loose sorting it all out.

There’s a philisophical
There’s a philisophical question here about trees falling in a forest and noise relating to this fraudster using a real hot bed of an issue and our reactions to it and the wider issues of responsibilities to humans outside our own narrow band of view, the manipulation of those that care by unseen media faces with their own agendas prioritsing some over others and where the line should or should not be drawn….. but with the onset of a real world internet fight about to happen I’ll just get my deckchair instead 🙂

You may just have pulled a
You may just have pulled a muscle… I had throuble with my hip flexor’s a while ago. Mainly them not being ‘tight’ and not very flexible.
On rollers I could ‘feel them’ working when concerntrating on pedal stroke, also on a wattbike when trying to get the peanut shape better, same engagement of muscles same feelings. I get similar ‘engagement’ when pushing hard uphill.
I’m not sure but I think this came on after moving my saddle position slightly, it was overcome easily with a simple hip flexor stretch before bed. Not happened since. The sod of it was that it took so long to heal as you can’t really ‘leave them alone to heal’..
