    It’s an interesting idea,

It’s an interesting idea, bringing all of the social stuff together in one place..

Bit of a bummer that I can’t comment on the social media within this ‘safe zone’ of a site. I’ll have to use social media identities to comment if I felt that way inclined. This makes me uncomfortable, some social media stuff ‘work’ sees and could hold against me if they ever realised how little attention I actually put into getting paid each week.

    Driver should have stopped

Driver should have stopped and didn’t, probably a bit hassled by the gang of yoof taking over the whole road, still, yet another example of bad judement whilst driving a 1.5ton weapon. Prime example of why driving should be a privilege not a right.

Yoofs being intimidating riding down road – one played chicken and lost – his mother calls it right. Yoof has a few bruises and learned not to play chicken with cars. Glad to see common sense prevailed and no charges.

Can only hope yoof was actually scared by this and does not think that even if you do get hit by a car you only get a couple of bruises.

34% women in my local club,

34% women in my local club, although that’s mtb inclusive. It’s rare we’ll see any on the fast training rides, far more social.

    Road pressure and sealants is

Road pressure and sealants is a grey area, not all are created equal.

I often ride at higher pressures and in short, don’t use Stans it’s rubbish, don’t use Continental Revo, that’s equally as rubbish, DO use Orange Sealant or I personally use the Bontrager Sealant (but you ‘really’ need to shake it a lot before use) and I’ve heard decent things about the Effetto Mariposa Caffe Latex Sealant also but don’t know anyone who’s used it.

I’ll probably swap oevr to the orange stuff once I run out of bontrager, but I’m not mixing sealants, that’d be like crossing the streams in ghostbusters!

    I admire the cycling club

I admire the cycling club kits from the continent.. full of logo’s, often ridiculous colours, all quite 1980’s and never afraid to emblazon the local carpet shop’s rubbish logo across the chest, shoulders, back, arms wherever there’s space.. there’s something a bit nostalgic about it.. club has a rubbish kit, don’t care, better than that clubs, wear with pride.

Hi viz apocalypse..lol…  if only that was ironic..

Wear what you want mate, is it the Aquablue kit? I think that’s the best looking kit on the world stage,  I’m a  fan of Connor Dunne since watchnig him win the Rutland-Melton Classic the other year.

I still wear my Radioshak Lepoard Trek jersey now and again becasuse 1) it’s comfy and 2) I don’t have that much choice in the wardrobe. Although ‘the joke is years old’ now, I still get called ‘Fabian Cancellera’ when I rock up wearing it 🙂

I do wonder who buys and wears the ‘tdf’ yellow jerseys each year though.. I’ve never seen anyone wearing one….

    Bernie, that sounds like a

Bernie, that sounds like a brilliant trip.

Have you considered the Kings Cross, London to Penzance (Night Riviera Sleeper Train)? Which does take a bike (booked in advance).

You could avoid fyling and Heathrow totally that way, get a Eurostar from France, then hop on the sleeper train to Penzance – wake up, voila!

If you’re using the NCN routes for the first time around Britain, be aware they can very massively in quality, a few being farm tracks or across fields.

Still, as long as you have reasonable sized tyres, you’ll have an amazing time exploring some of the best countryside in the world, I am very jelous.
